The Renaissance Mom Opens for Business
FLINT, Mich., January 11, 2010 – Local business owner, Lisa Robbin Young today announced the birth of her newest company, The Renaissance Mom, LLC. The company website at http://www.TheRenaissanceMom.com, has been live for a little over a month and is fast becoming an online outpost of sorts for working mothers and entrepreneurial moms. The company’s mission is to help working mothers – especially entrepreneurial moms – bring peace and balance to their otherwise chaotic lives.
“I worked at building a business as a single mom, and now as a married mom with a special needs kid.” said Young, who owns a business coaching company as well. “It can be challenging to strike the balance between success, service to others, and feeling fulfillment in any of it. The Renaissance Mom is about being re-born into a role where we can embrace being a mom and a business owner, without apologizing for any of it.”
The Blog
The website serves as a blog and resource for working moms to connect and learn from the experiences of Young. Her early childhood in Flint, as well as her mis-adventures as a single mom during what she calls her “young and stupid days” are all fodder for helping women realize they are not alone in their quest to find work-life balance.
Education and Services
The first educational program, the Power of Focus, is slated to launch later this month. The program emphasizes tips and techniques that business women can use to get more clarity in their work and stay more focused throughout the day. Young draws on her experiences with her oldest child, who was diagnosed with ADHD /ODD and is now undergoing treatment at a residential wilderness camp.
“There is a lot of crossover between what I call ‘Entrepreneurial ADD’ and ADHD. Nearly 50% of entrepreneurs demonstrate ADD tendencies. Many of the tools and techniques we’ve used with my son can easily be applied to anyone that needs to get more focus and clarity in their lives.”
An official brand launch is planned for March, 2010, and a live event is slated for fall. The company has partnered with the charity Dress For Success, an organization that assists women with training and attire for business success.
