About Lisa

Lisa Robbin Young
“Mother, wife, financial adviser, direct sales coach, direct seller, musician, composer, author, trainer, inspiring speaker, actor, coolest girl on the planet (according to Google), business mentor, and woman of faith” just seemed too long for a business card.
Thus, The Renaissance Mom was born.
I’ve faced homelessness, poverty and bankruptcy. I’ve been a single mom & a married mom, with a special needs kid and a precocious toddler. I’ve built and sold businesses on a shoestring, and had one of the messiest kitchens this side of the Mississippi. I hate doing dishes by myself, and my husband does the laundry (YAY!)
A guy I almost dated said I’d done a lot of concentrated living. There’s a story there that I’ll share sometime.
People who know me call me impressive, fearless and inspirational. People who really know me call me dependable, reliable, and a true friend. So I’m one part puppy, one part pitbull.
I’m smart, but I’m not dumb enough to think I know everything. When I coach and mentor, I speak from the experiences of my own life, because that’s an area of expertise where I’m the undisputed genius. I’ve had my young and stupid days, and if I can share my lessons learned to shorten your learning curve, then my work has meaning.
I believe that every person has a right to pursue their dreams. I also believe that pursuit takes work, and you need to be willing to do the work to get the result. Not willing? Don’t complain when you don’t get what you want. I’m blunt, direct, and a no-BS kind of girl.
Sometimes I wish I was more “girly” – but then I realize that if I was, I wouldn’t be me.
I believe in the possibilities of people – that we can do a lot more than we give ourselves credit for, and that we are so much more valuable than we believe ourselves to be. Self-worth has kind of become my mission. I find that once people embrace their true value in the world, it becomes almost a no-brainer to accomplish whatever they truly desire.
It’s not about the Law of Attraction, per se. It’s more about being willing to give yourself permission to be amazing.
Oh, and I believe that Faith and Science can peacefully co-exist and are not mutually exclusive. God and evolution don’t have to be at opposite ends of the spectrum – at least not in my world. Faith has a deeper connotation than “just religion”, too.
So I blog about being a mom, being in business, and the journey of striking the balance between it all. My balance isn’t the same as yours, and I’ve learned some lessons along the way that you can put to good use in our own quest for balance.
In fact, I’m on a mission to help you (and 9,999 other entrepreneurial moms) do just that. Check out my “No Apologies” ebook (it’s less than 20 pages, and it’s free). Sign up for my periodic newsletter (which means I don’t have a set schedule for it yet). Figure out for yourself how to strike the balance, get more sanity and feel more peace in your day.
How’d I get here?
I was in direct sales, struggling to build a business for years. I tripped over the Internet and figured out how to run my business virtually on autopilot. A few people said “write a book” so I did. Other people bought that book. I started a revolution, I guess, totally by accident. People asked me to coach them, to train them, to share my ‘secrets’ with their teams, and Home Party Solution was born. More than a book, it’s a business mindset. Thousands of people around the world have participated in my semi-annual Super Summits, and get all kinds of crazy results from my Direct Sales Classroom coaching programs. But Direct Sales is only part of who I am.
Where Am I Going?
The number one thing my clients ask about time and again is not marketing. It’s not strategy. It’s overcoming fear. They’ve got tools galore for getting off dead center in their business, they just can’t figure out why they’re not moving. They’re smart, talented, maybe even wealthy, but something’s not clicking. There’s some fear holding them in place. We break through that fear and then the actions become effortless.
Sometimes though, they don’t even recognize the fear. It’s become buried under layers of “shoulds” and other distractions that are keeping them from hitting their target. So I launched The Renaissance Mom as an answer to that problem. You don’t even have to BE a mom to find value here, although that’s the voice I speak from. I work with men and women in diverse age groups, but my primary focus is entrepreneurial moms – because I am one, I get you, and I can speak from experience about many of the issues that “haunt” you on a daily basis.
